Import Demo Data

To test out the Marketo APIs, you need to have data in your Marketo lead database. This post will show you how to import demo data into your Marketo account.

Here is a link to a CSV file with demo data that you can use as a starting point for creating your own demo data. It has 500 leads with email, first name, last name, and company name columns. To make the data more interesting, add additional columns, such as city and state.

Step 1 – Login to Marketo, and go to Lead Database. Click New. Then click Import List.

Step 4 – Select a List Name. Select an Acquisition Program. Then click Import.

Selecting a list name will associate the leads from the demo data file with this list in Marketo. Selecting an acquisition program will put the name of the acquisition program on all leads imported from this file.
